Are Tighty Whities Making a Comeback?

I would say yes. From David Beckham to rap artists, tighty whities are making a comeback. Full Cut White Briefs Aren't For Grandpa Anymore...

In fact they've never been an exclusive "grandpa" variety undergarment. Yes the full rise (or full cut) brief can be a little "big" for some of you. Again that is only based on looks not on practicality. It was the full cut brief that first made it to stores 100 years ago and there are STILL in use today by men of ALL ages. I'm not ashamed of wearing "grandpa" briefs. They do actually provide a function. And I am a twenty-nine year old hispanic man that is proud of wearing them. In fact most people actually complement me more than tease me when they see this "cool" briefs (some of them have never seen my style of brief until I show them). Round two why white briefs have an advantage over the boxer:

Cost.


Simply put, white briefs are more cheap and do not put a strain on your wallet. Reason being is that they are easier to produce and therefore you can make more of them, driving the cost down. White briefs are also cheaper than colored briefs as adding color adds to the cost. There are many things to consider: our current economic situation and the higher cost of cotton among other things. More or less people will be driven to buy white briefs than before simply for economic reasons. That's fine. They will get to see the all the advantages of wearing briefs. Of course some briefs do get pricey (because of brand, adding of other fabrics etc.) as my Jockeys were $21 for a three pack, and bought a lot of three for a total of $63 plus tax. Believe me they were worth it. But again I must stress, this is only my opinion. Regular cotton briefs (of the Hanes or FTL variety) are very good as well, as I been wearing those for many years. Heck a seven pack of FTL briefs are under 10 bucks at your local Target store... versus 20 bucks for a three pack of boxers. This isn't rocket science folks.

My Relationship With My White Briefs

Throughout my young life I've grown to love my briefs. I do not recall how old I was when I started wearing them, but I bet it was quite young. My father, at that time, was also wearing white briefs as I remember. But I didn't notice anything special about them until I was in the 4th grade and another boy showed me his white briefs. At that time I thought I was the only one wearing them and it was there and then that I attached white briefs to masculinity and that "this is what boys/men wear." Just like girls wear dresses and panties (i got to see that too in the 4th grade lol) us boys/men wear pants and tighty whities. End of story.

After elementary school my close friend and I were out camping one day at a national park in California. When we dressed up for the night and change into our pj's we finally came to see what each of us were wearing. We both wear briefs but the only difference was that his pair was not white but red instead. That got me thinking. So when I got back home I got my mother to take me to the store and buy new underwear but this time in color. So we went to K-Mart and did just that. And since then all I wore was colored briefs.

Then came gym class at Junior High. To be honest wearing briefs was not really a problem during gym class, I did not have the experience as many other brief wearers had. The bullying was more restricted to other things and not over who was wearing what. Maybe its because I grew up in largely Latino city and we as a people have bigger issues to deal with (like gang affiliation, money issues, penis length etc) in both Junior high and high school locker rooms. One thing that also differ in my experience in these environments was the outright rejection of showering after gym class was over. I would say that half of the population back then in Junior high wore briefs and the others wore boxers. However, the older boys were more into wearing boxers, so subliminally I think many guys wore boxers because they thought it was cool and showed that you were "older" and "mature" or maybe involved in a "gang." But it was not mandatory to wear them. In fact there plenty of "cool kids" you know, the "popular ones" that also wore briefs. I think they did this because during that time boners were all too common. I kept seeing one every day at gym class. I even recall two boys showing each other their boners (through the leg of the boxers) while our coach took attendance and the brief wearers just looked on in laughter (or pleasure). Nobody took notice of my briefs until one day I wore a pair with a crazy ass pattern on it that my friend Peter complimented them. It was later that Peter started to wear briefs underneath a pair of boxers. I have to confess something. After arriving at high school I did experiment with the all mighty boxer. For one full year I wore them as everybody there was also wearing them. Then one day something unexpected happened (well at least to me) the most popular guy in school was now taking gym (the requirement then was at least 2 years, I took all four years) and joined my class which was weight lifting. He was a very slick Mexican immigrant, very muscular and played all the major sports and was captain of the soccer team.
